Dr. Carman Bio
Dr. Carman received his undergraduate education at Cal Poly Pomona and his dental degree from the University of California, San Francisco. This was followed by a one-year hospital-based general practice residency at UCLA prior to entering practice in the bay area. After five years in general practice--three of those in Vacaville--he attended the University of Pittsburgh for an additional two-year specialty program in Endodontics.
His professional organization memberships include the California Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Society, and the Napa-Solano Dental Society.
He grew up in Southern California but says he claimed Northern California as his home the moment he experienced the cool summer fog rolling up Parnassus avenue at UCSF. He started practice in Vacaville in 1987 and found the small town feel a perfect fit. "How many cities have an ACE hardware store down the street where you can still buy a single screw?" As a father and husband, he has been active in the community with scouting, coaching, and community volunteer work.
He stays connected to his Southern Californa roots with a passion for kiteboarding. When there is no wind to be found, another favorite outdoor activity is keeping up with the family's two Vizsla dogs in the hills of Lagoon Valley.
The privilege of serving the public as a healthcare provider comes with an obligation to put patients' best interests above all else. That obligation is met with a simple approach to practice: first and foremost, treating each patient the way I would like to be treated by my own healthcare providers by:
-providing focused, state of the art treatment
-explaining fully your treatment options, alternatives, and associated fees prior to treatment
- ensuring your comfort during treatment
- respecting your time (seeing you on time)
- never forgetting there is a person attached to the tooth we are working on
